To insert an image, you can either drag and drop it into your document or click the plus button. This one does allow you to scroll down and see more images without having to leave the document. Click Share and find the name or email id of the person/collaborator you wish to make the owner. In my view, this defeats the point of having the search within Docs. It allows you to search for things on Google without having to leave your document. The “ Explore” tool has replaced the Research tool and is mainly aimed at those writing academic papers, essays, etc, but it can be useful for anyone.
